RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, or designee, to execute, on behalf of the Public Works Director, a purchase order with Coast Counties Truck and Equipment, in an amount not to exceed $710,000 for the purchase of one 2016 Peterbilt 365 Model 3 Axle Dump Truck and two 2016 Peterbilt 365 Model Transfer Truck and Trailers for use by Flood Control and Water Conservation District, Countywide.

FISCAL IMPACT:

27% Flood Control Funds and 73% Local Road Funds.

BACKGROUND:

The purchase order is necessary to fund replacement of 22, 17 and 14 year old trucks that are in poor operating condition.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this board order is not approved, Flood Control and Water Conservation District will be unable to replace the necessary vehicles.
