FISCAL IMPACT:
80% Federal Highway Bridge Program Funds and 20% General Fund.
BACKGROUND:
The Marsh Creek Detention Facility Bridge has a Caltrans Sufficiency Rating of 22 and is considered structurally deficient. A bridge with a Sufficiency Rating less than 50 is eligible for federal funds to replace the bridge under the Highway Bridge Program (HBP) and the County has received approval for this bridge to be included in the HBP. Federal HBP funds will provide the majority of the funding for the bridge design services, with County general funds providing the local match. The County has successfully negotiated with Quincy Engineering, Inc. to provide the design services.
