RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Transfer Agreement #23-554 with Brighter Beginnings Family Health Clinic, a non-profit corporation, for the provision to transfer patients and records to Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers, for the period from January 1, 2014 through December 31, 2023.

FISCAL IMPACT:

None. This is a non-financial agreement.

BACKGROUND:

Brighter Beginnings Family Health Clinic is in the process of becoming a licensed primary care clinic and this transfer of patients and records agreement between the County and Brighter Beginnings Family Health Clinic is to provide transfer of patients appearing at the clinic who are in need of hospital level care.   
  


BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
Under this Transfer Agreement #23-554, Brighter Beginnings Family Health Clinic shall, through appropriately authorized staff which are discharge personnel, Nursing Supervisor, or Clinic Medical Director, attempt to arrange for the transfer of a patient to Contra Costa Regional Medical Center for the provision of non-emergent transfer, for the period from January 1, 2014 through December 31, 2023, including mutual indemnification to hold harmless both parties for any claims arising out of the performance of this Agreement.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, patients appearing at the clinic, who are in need of hospital level care will not have access to services provided at CCRMC and will result in a delay in services.
