RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Standard Agreement (Amendment) #29-782-15 (State #05MHF046, A12) with the State of California, Managed Risk Medical Insurance Board, to amend Standard Agreement #29-782-2 (as amended by Amendment Agreements #29-782-3 through #29-782-14), effective October 1, 2013, with no change in the Payment Limit of $10,174, making technical adjustments to the Agreement for the Healthy Families Program, and extend the term of the Agreement from September 30, 2013 through June 30, 2014.

FISCAL IMPACT:

No change to the total Payment Limit of $10,174 from The State of California, Managed Risk Medical Insurance Board, for the Healthy Families Program. No County funds are required.

BACKGROUND:

On July 25, 2005, the Board of Supervisors approved Standard Agreement #29-782-2 (as amended by Amendment Agreements #29-782-3 through #29-782-14) with the State of California, Managed Risk Medical Insurance Board for the period from July 1, 2005 through September 30, 2013, for County’s participation in the Healthy Families Program.  
  
Approval of Standard Agreement (Amendment) #29-782-15 continues State funding for County’s Contra Costa Health Plan-Community Plan participation for State supported services in the Healthy Families Program through June 30, 2014.  

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, the County will not be able to provide State supported services to families in the Healthy Families Program.
