RECOMMENDATION(S):

ADOPT Position Resolution No. 21417 to add one permanent full-time Clerk-Senior Level (JWXC) position at salary level 3RX 1033 ($2,882.23 - $3,680.73) in the Health Services Department. (Represented)

FISCAL IMPACT:

Upon approval, this action has an annual cost of approximately $78,062.03 including $15,679.78 in pension costs, which is 100% funded by Federally Qualified Health Care revenue.

BACKGROUND:

The Health Services Department is requesting to add a permanent full-time Clerk-Senior Level position assigned to the newly opened Concord Health Center of the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and its Health Centers. The primary responsibility of this position is to serve as a liaison between medical providers and patients to meet patients' non-appointment access care needs in the absence of the providers. Duties include answering telephones and calling patients with instructions per provider regarding patient appointments, diagnostic testing, referrals, and prescription availability following established procedures.

Upon approval, this action has an annual cost of approximately $78,062.03 including $15,679.78 in pension costs, which is 100% funded by Federally Qualified Health Care revenue.  
  
If this action is not approved, the Concord Health Center will not have adequate staffing to meet the needs of patients and may have direct negative impact on patient care.
