RECOMMENDATION(S):

RECEIVE this report concerning the final settlement of Shahin Shahsavar-Golani and AUTHORIZE payment from the Workers' Compensation Internal Service Fund in an amount not to exceed $23,000 less permanent disability advances.

Attorney Tom M. Hinton, defense counsel for the County, has advised the County Administrator that within authorization an agreement has been reached settling the workers' compensation claim of Shahin Shahsavar-Golani v. Contra Costa County. The Board's January 14, 2014 closed session vote was: Supervisors Gioia, Andersen, Piepho, Mitchoff and Glover – Yes. This action is taken so that the terms of this final settlement and the earlier January 14, 2014 closed session vote of this Board authorizing its negotiated settlement are known publicly.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Case will not be settled.
