RECOMMENDATION(S):

RECEIVE this report concerning the final settlement of Rosanna Sanchez and AUTHORIZE payment from the Workers' Compensation Internal Service Fund in an amount not to exceed $60,000 less permanent disability advances.

Attorney Suzanne M. Aboujudom, defense counsel for the County, has advised the County Administrator that within authorization an agreement has been reached settling the workers' compensation claim of Rosanna Sanchez v. Contra Costa County Employment and Human Services Department. The Board's January 14, 2014 closed session vote was: Supervisors Gioia, Andersen, Piepho, Mitchoff and Glover – Yes. This action is taken so that the terms of this final settlement and the earlier January 14, 2014 closed session vote of this Board authorizing its negotiated settlement are known publicly.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

None.
