RECOMMENDATION(S):

ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 21189 to reclassify one (40/40) Senior Public Health Nutritionist (V9TE) (represented) position No. 8627 at salary plan and grade QT5 1526 ($4708-$5722), to one (40/40) Public Health Program Specialist I (VBSD) (represented) position at salary plan and grade ZA5 1602 ($5076-$6170) in the Health Services Department.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Upon approval, this action would result in a total annual cost of $122,993.33 associated with the reclassification of one Senior Public Health Nutritionist to one Public Health Program Specialist I. This reclassification will result in a annual net increaase of $8,909.67, to be absorbed by the WIC grant.

BACKGROUND:

The Senior Public Health Nutritionist (V9TE) position for the WIC program has evolved over time and the WIC Program has tripled. The classification of Public Health Program Specialist I (VBSD) is appropriate as the role functions as a project manager for grants, outreach and nutrition education.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this action is not approved, project management to the WIC program will be limited as the Senior Public Health Nutritionist classification does not extend to the needs of the current role.

CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
