RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of Risk Management, to execute an amendment to a purchase order with Aon eSolutions to increase the amount payable by $157,371 to a new total of $317,740 for the workers’ compensation and liability claims system annual software support and maintenance as recommended by the Risk Management Director.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Costs are supported through Countywide Inter-departmental charges to the Internal Service Funds for workers’ compensation and general liability.

BACKGROUND:

Aon eSolutions provides the iVOS Claims Management Software System which produces current and historical claims data for administration of claims, premium charges, actuarial analysis and identification of loss trends. The iVOS system supplies the software, user licenses, software support, maintenance and application provider services used for the County's claims administration. Blanket PO #36870 for Aon eSolutions was established for the period of November 1, 2010 through September 30, 2012 (a 23 month period). However, the amount allotted to the PO only covered 12 months of services instead of 23 months. The increase is being requested to cover all payments for the 23 months of services the County received.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

County will not have support and maintenance for the workers’ compensation and liability claims system software.

CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:

None.
