RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the County Administrator, or designee, to execute a contract amendment NO. 2 with the City of Brentwood extending the term by one year through December 8, 2013, for the County's provision of radio telecommunication services to the City.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Additional revenue for DoIT's Telecommunications division.

BACKGROUND:

DoIT's Telecommunications division will continue to provide the City of Brentwood with telecommunications related professional services. The County Department of Information Technology will provide yearly maintenance on two City police department base station radio repeaters and its in-band repeater at an annual fee of $1,800 as well as providing any requested radio communication services at the rate of $120 an hour for services performed between December 9, 2012 and December 9, 2013, plus the cost of any materials and required equipment.  

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Reduced revenue for the radio division which could increase labor rates.

No impact.
