RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Interagency Agreement #74-344-4 with The Regents of the University of California, for its San Francisco campus, Department of Psychiatry, an educational institution, in an amount not to exceed $8,080, to provide training, for the County’s Behavioral Health Services Division/Mental Health staff for the period from February 1, 2013 through January 31, 2014.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Contract is funded 100% by Mental Health Services Act Older Adult Program. (No rate increase)

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this agreement is not approved, Contractor will not continue providing services.







BACKGROUND:

On July 7, 2009, the Board of Supervisors approved Interagency Agreement #74-344 (as amended by contract extension agreements #74-344-1 through #74-344-3) with The Regents of the University of California, San Francisco, Department of Psychiatry for the provision of clinical evaluation and consultation services to the County’s Behavioral Health Services Division/Mental Health staff with regard to providing an overview of the University of Washington’s Depression Care Model (IMPACT Model) and certifying selected County clinical staff with regard to Problem Solving Therapy (PST), including mutual indemnification, through January 31, 2013.  
  
Approval of Interagency Agreement #74-344-4 will allow the Contractor to continue providing services including mutual indemnification for any claims that arise out of the performance of this Contract through January 31, 2014.
