RECOMMENDATION(S):

ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 21237 to cancel one (1) vacant part-time (20/40) Public Defender Investigator II (6NVA) (represented) at salary level JF5 1708 ($5,579.84 - $6,782.33) position #14254; increase the hours of one (1) Public Defender Investigator II (6NVA) (represented) and its incumbent in position #3870 from part-time (20/40) to full-time in the Public Defenders Office.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This action will result in an annual cost savings of $14,031 and a savings in the current fiscal year of $5,846. The impact to retirement cost is neutral.

BACKGROUND:

In 2010 The Public Defender's Office had adjusted a 40/40 Investigator II position into two 20/40 Position to accommodate an employee request for reduced hours to part-time. The department would now like to reinstate this position back to it original 40/40 position so that we can meet the needs of our department.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this request is not approved the Investigator's unit will be unable to meet department needs.
