RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE a lease with Cranbrook Realty Investment Fund, L.P., for a five-year term for approximately 562 square feet of office space located at 1340 Arnold Drive, Suite 120, Martinez, for continued occupancy by the Health Services Department, under the terms and conditions set forth in the Lease.  
  

AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to EXECUTE the lease on behalf of the County and to EXERCISE any options to extend the Lease.  

FISCAL IMPACT:

The Lease will obligate the County to pay a total rent of $40,464 during the five (5) year term. (100 % Health Services Department-Emergency Medical Services; Org # 6543; WLP 784) (Enterprise Fund EF-1)

BACKGROUND:

The Health Services Department requires this office space for expansion of the existing and contiguous Emergency Medical Service program. As a condition of the Lease the property owner requires the County to indemnify them.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Failure to approve the Lease may result in having to find new space for expansion, which may result in higher cost to the County.
