RECOMMENDATION(S):

ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 21169to add one full-time Home Economist (V9WE) (represented) position in the Health Services Department.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Upon approval, this action will result in an annual cost of approximately $100,150.83, including pension costs of approximately $21,014.27. The cost will be 100% offset by WIC Funds and the cancellation of a contract.

BACKGROUND:

The WIC Program is a program designed to assist women and their infant children. It is located within the Public Health Division. The Home Economist position provides nutritional classes to women with children that are clients of the WIC Program.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this action is not approved, the WIC Program will not have sufficient staff to provide nutritional classes to the clients served by the program.
