BACKGROUND:

The Advisory Council on Equal Employment Opportunity was established on July 9, 1991 to serve as an advisory committee to the Board of Supervisors regarding the implementation of the County's Affirmative Action Plan, to review the Affirmative Action Program, and recommend actions to facilitate attainment of the County's goal for affirmative action.  
  
The Advisory Council consists of 11 members and the Internal Operations Committee (IOC) reviews nominations to all seats except those designated for County managers and labor organizations. Seat terms are for three years. On February 13, 2012, the IOC reviewed and approved the nomination of the two applicants for consideration by the full Board of Supervisors.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

The applicants recommended for appointment will not be appointed to the Committee.
