RECOMMENDATION(S):

ADOPT Position Adjustment Request No. 21051 to reduce the hours of one Deputy District Attorney - Basic Level (2KTF) position #3725 (represented) and its incumbent from full time (40/40) to part time (20/40) for the period February 22, 2012 through February 22, 2013, returning to full time status on February 23, 2013, in the District Attorney's office.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Upon approval, this action will result in a one-time cost savings of $95,369.

BACKGROUND:

The incumbent in Deputy District Attorney Basic Level position # 3725 has requested to work part-time (20/40) for a one year period February 22, 2012 through February 22, 2013, returning to full time status on February 23, 2013. This position hours adjustment is necessary to accommodate the incumbent's request while at the same time yielding a cost savings to the District Attorney's operational budget. Therefore, by accommodating this employee's request to reduce work hours from 40/40 to 20/40 the District Attorneys office will realize a cost savings.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this request is not approved the incumbent will be adversely impacted and the District Attorney's Office will be spending funds unnecessarily.
