RECOMMENDATION(S):

ADOPT Resolution No. 2012/69 for the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors to grant informal recognition to the Physicians' & Dentists' Organization of Contra Costa (PDOC) in regard to the classification of Optometrist.

FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no cost associated with this action.

BACKGROUND:

Physicians' & Dentists' Organization of Contra Costa (PDOC) has petitioned for informal recognition while it pursues formal recognition as the majority representative of employees in the Optometrist classification. The Director of Human Resources has reviewed the request and determined the petition to be in conformance with the requirements of the County's Employer-Employee Relations Resolution No. 81/1165 (EERR), section 34-10.004 and has recommended informal recognition under section 34-10.006.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

The County will be out of compliance with the Employer-Employee Relations Resolution 81/1165 (EERR).
