RECOMMENDATION(S):

ADOPT Resolution No. 2012/67 to approve and authorize the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to execute a contract amendment with the California Department of Aging to increase the payment limit to County by $88,590 to a total amount not to exceed $3,941,247 to include One-Time-Only funding for Older Americans Act Title III and Title VII programs for the period July 1, 2011 through June 30 2012.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Per California Department of Aging, Agreement AP-1112-07, Amendment 1, County to receive an amended funding amount up to $3,941,247 to include One-Time-Only funding of $88,590. 100% Federal. No County match.

BACKGROUND:

This contract amendment re-allocates unspent federal funds from Fiscal Year (FY) 2010-11 to FY 2011-12 and adjusts initial Area Plan allocations for Older American Act Title III and Title VII programs, One-time-Only and Nutrition Services Incentive Program funding for FY 2011-12.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

The contract amendment increases funds provided to County and will be used to enhance or maintain the current program service levels.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Without authorization to accept additional California Department of Aging funding, the current contract funding amount could not be increased to enhance or maintain program service levels.

CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:

Not applicable.
