RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Purchasing Agent on behalf of Health Services Department, to execute a change order to Purchase Order #35843 with Sanofi Pasteur, Inc., to add $35,000 to a new total of $115,000, for the period January 1, 2011 through September 30, 2012, for vaccines and injectable medications at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers.

FISCAL IMPACT:

100% Enterprise Fund I.

BACKGROUND:

Sanofi Pasteur, Inc. is a pharmaceutical company that provides the hospital and the clinics with vaccines and other injectable medications. The request for additional funds is the result of an increase in the number of inoculations administered.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, then without these vaccines we will not be able to take care of our patient population at CCRMC and health clinics.
