RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #27-820-2 with Chris Cammisa, M.D. (DBA Cammisa Healthcare Consulting), a self-employed individual, effective December 1, 2011, to amend Contract #27-820-1, to increase the payment limit by $33,280, from $79,800 to a new payment limit of $113,080, with no change in the original term of October 1, 2011 through September 30, 2012.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This amendment is funded 100% by Contra Costa Health Plan Member Premiums. (No rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

In December, 2011, the County Administrator approved and Purchasing Services Manager executed Contract #27-820-1 with Chris Cammisa, M.D. (DBA Cammisa Healthcare Consulting) to provide consultation and technical assistance to the Health Plan Medical Management Team, including quality improvement projects and health plan product lines and associated memberships from October 1, 2011 through September 30, 2012.  




BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
  
Due to an increase in seniors and people with disabilities by 15%, the county requested and the contractor agreed to provided additional consulting services.  
  
Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #27-820-2 will allow the Contractor to provide additional consulting services for seniors and people with disabilities, (SPD) membership/enrollment through September 30, 2012.  

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this amendment is not approved, additional services to Medi-Cal and seniors and people with disabilities may not be provided.
