RECOMMENDATION(S):

ADOPT Resolution No. 2012/45 honoring the Perinatal Team at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center for their significant contribution to the health and well-being of the women and families of Contra Costa County by increasing the number of vaginal births after Caesarian section (VBAC program) therefore making delivery safer for mothers and their newborns.

FISCAL IMPACT:

None.

BACKGROUND:

The VBAC program was recently recognized for its contribution to quality improvement and patient safety with the Top Honors Quality Leaders Award from the California Association of Public Hospitals and Health Systems and the California Health Care Safety Net Institute.
