RECOMMENDATION(S):
Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Novation Contract #74–334-5 with Seneca Residential and Day Treatment Center for Children, a non-profit corporation, in an amount not to exceed $2,500,000, to provide school-based mental health services for Seriously Emotionally Disturbed students, for the period from July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012. This Contract includes a six-month automatic extension through December 31, 2012, in an amount not to exceed $1,250,000.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 30% by Federal FFP Medi-Cal, 30% by State Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnosis and Treatment (EPSDT), and 40% by Mt. Diablo Unified School District.
BACKGROUND:
This Contract meets the social needs of County’s population by providing school-based mental health services, including assessments; individual, group and family therapy; medication support; case management; outreach; and crisis intervention services for Seriously Emotionally Disturbed (SED) school aged children and their families.
