RECOMMENDATION(S):

ADOPT Resolution No. 2012/38 to approve and authorize the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to execute a contract amendment (2M-1011-07 Amendment 1) with California Department of Aging to reallocate unspent FY 2010-11 funds to FY 2011-12, in the amount not to exceed $50,186, to provide enhanced outreach and enrollment assistance to eligible Medicare beneficiaries.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Reallocate $50,186 in unspent FY 2010-11 2MIPPA to FY 2011-12. The funds are carry over from FY 2010-11 to FY 2011-12.

BACKGROUND:

As $50,186 in Medicare Improvement for Patient and Provider Act (MIPPA) funds were unspent by EHSD in FY 2010-2011, California Department of Aging will reallocate those unspent funds to FY 2011-12 per 2M-1011-07 Amendment 1.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Funds would remain unspent.
