RECOMMENDATION(S):

ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 21046 to add one (1) Network Technician II (LNVA) (represented) full time position at salary level   
ZB5 1592 ($5,026-$6109); add one (1) Information Systems Programmer/Analyst II (LPVA) (represented) full time position at salary level ZA5 1594   

($5,036-$6121); and cancel one (1) Computer Mapping Services Manager (NPHD) (represented) full time vacant position #1490; cancel one (1) Computer Aided Drafting Operator (NPWB) (represented) full time vacant position #1494 in the department of Public Works.

FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no fiscal impact. Costs are offset by the cancellation of one (1) Computer Mapping Services Manager position and one (1) Computer Aided Drafting Operator positions.




BACKGROUND:

The Public Works and General Services will be physically merging in the near future. Approval of this personnel request will assist the department in eliminating duplication of efforts between the previously separate departments in the Information and Technology division and will allow for a more effective and efficient transition between both departments.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this request is not approved, the Public Works Department will be unable to continue progress in the elimination of the duplication of efforts between the Public Works and General Services Information and Technology work responsibilities.

CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:

No Impact.
