RECOMMENDATION(S):

ADOPT Resolution No. 2011/51 recognizing Ralph Alvarado on the occasion of his retirement, as recommended by the Employment and Human Services Director.

FISCAL IMPACT:

BACKGROUND:

Ralph Alvarado's career with the County started 38 years ago as an Eligibility Worker I working directly with clients to grant benefits. Ralph has demonstrated his commitment to continuing professional growth by obtaining his Bachelor of Arts degree from San Francisco State University while working full-time for the Employment and Human Services Department. Ralph advanced his career through several Eligibility Worker positions to Eligibility Worker Supervisor in 1990 to Social Services Welfare Fraud Investigations Supervisor in 1992 and to Social Services Fraud Prevention Manager in 2004.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Mr. Alvarado will not be recognized by the Board of Supervisors for his many contributions to Contra Costa County's Employment and Human services Department.
