RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute a contract amendment with HS Operating Services, LLC to increase the payment limit by $75,000 from $125,000 to a new payment limit of $200,000 with no change to the original term, Martinez area. (Sanitation District 6, Stonehurst Funds) Project No.: 7365-6x9E30

FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no impact to the County General Fund. All costs associated with the ongoing repairs and maintenance for the sanitation district will be covered by Sanitation District 6, Stonehurst funds (100%).

BACKGROUND:

Wastewater Operating Services are required for Sanitation District 6, Stonehurst, located in Martinez. On August 5, 2008, the Public Works Department requested Bids from twenty-two (22) qualified firms and local wastewater treatment agencies. In 2010 this district had activity above and beyond its regular maintenance. These activites have made it necessary to increase the contract payment limit so that we can continue to utilize the current operator, HS Operating Services, LLC.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Without approval from the Board of Supervisors, Sanitation District 6, Stonehurst, will not have an operator for the wastewater treatment facility.
