RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, (Jeff Smith, M.D.) to execute on behalf of the County, Contract #26-614-1 with Sodexo America, LLC, a limited liability company, in an amount not to exceed $280,466, for the provision management and oversight of the Environmental Services Unit at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers, for the period from January 1, 2009 through December 31, 2009.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Contract is funded 100% by Enterprise I Funds.

BACKGROUND:

On December 18, 2007, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-614 with Sodexo America, LLC to provide management and oversight of the Environmental Services Unit at Contra Costa Regional Centers including providing day-to-day on-site management, addressing potential problem and ensuring standards of cleanliness at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center.

Approval of Contract #26-614-1 will allow the Contractor to continue to provide interim management of the Environmental Services Unit while the Department continues to recruit for a permanent replacement for the Director of Environmental Services, through December 31, 2009.
