RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Donna Wigand) to execute on behalf of the County, Contract #74-277-2 with Jackson & Coker LocumTenens, LLC, a limited liability company, in an amount not to exceed $300,000, to provide temporary psychiatric services for the Mental Health Division Outpatient Clinics, for the period from January 1, 2009 through December 31, 2009.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Contract is funded 100% by Mental Health Realignment.

BACKGROUND:

For several years, the County has contracted with registries to provide temporary licensed personnel to assist during peak loads, temporary absences, and emergency situations.

On January 8, 2008, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #74-277-1 with Jackson & Coker LocumTenens, LLC to provide temporary psychiatric registry coverage services for the Mental Health Division Outpatient Clinics, to cover vacations, sick leave, and extended leaves of County-employed Psychiatrist, for the period from January 1, 2008 through December 31, 2008.
Approval of Contract #74-277-2 will allow the Contractor to continue to provide services, through December 31, 2009.
