RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Jeff Smith, M.D.), to execute on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #26-395-7 with LocumTenen.com, LLC, a limited liability company, effective December 1, 2008, to amend Contract #26-395-6, to increase the payment limit by $200,000, from $300,000 to a new payment limit of $500,000, and with no change in the original term of March 1, 2008 through February 28, 2009.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Contract is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I.

BACKGROUND:

On April 8, 2008, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-395-6 with LocumTenens.com, LLC for the period from March 1, 2008 through February 28, 2009, for the provision of recruitment services and temporary physician services at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers.

Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #26-395-7 will allow the Contractor to provide additional temporary physician services to cover a vacancy of one (1) physician in the Orthopedic Surgery Unit at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center, through February 28, 2009.
