RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, or designee, to execute, on behalf of the Sheriff-Coroner, a purchase order amendment with Buchanan Food Service to increase the payment limit by $125,000 to a new payment limit of $500,000 and to extend the effective date through May 31, 2022, to provide bread loaves, rolls and all related bakery items for the West County, Martinez and Marsh Creek detention facilities.

FISCAL IMPACT:

$125,000. 100% County General Fund; Budgeted.

BACKGROUND:

Buchanan Food Service provides bread loaves, rolls and other related bakery items at an economical price point to support inmate feeding program requirements of the West County, Martinez, and Marsh Creek detention facilities. A purchase order amendment is needed to continue this program while the procurement process is underway.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

The Sheriff's Office will be unable to use Buchanan Food Services to support the inmate feeding requirements of the three detention facilities.
