RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute, on behalf of the County Contract Amendment Agreement #26-458-29 with AYA Healthcare, Inc., a corporation, effective December 1, 2020, to amend Contract #26-458-27, to increase the payment limit by $1,500,000, from $1,500,000 to a new payment limit of $3,000,000, with no change in the original term of July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This amendment is funded 100% Enterprise Fund I. (No rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

On June 16, 2020, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-458-27 with AYA Healthcare, Inc., for the provision of temporary nursing services to cover during temporary absences, and a shortage of nurses in critical areas at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Health Centers (CCRMC), for the period from July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #26-458-29 will allow the Contractor to provide additional hours of temporary nursing services through June 30, 2021.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this amendment is not approved, contractor will not provide additional hours of temporary nursing services.
