RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County Contract #77-198-1 with Invitae Corporation, in an amount not to exceed $300,000, to provide outside laboratory testing services for Contra Costa Health Plan (CCHP) members, for the period December 1, 2020 through November 30, 2023.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This contract will be funded 100% by CCHP Enterprise Fund II. (No rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

In February 2019 the County Administrator approved and the Purchasing Services Manager executed Contract #77-198 with Invitae Corporation, for the provision of outside laboratory testing services for CCHP members, for the period December 1, 2018 through November 30, 2020.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

Approval of Contract #77-198-1 will allow the contractor to continue to provide outside laboratory testing services for CCHP members through November 30, 2023.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, certain specialized health care services will not be provided.
