RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve Appropriations and Revenue Adjustment No. 5007 authorizing new revenue from the California Department of Education in the amount of $685,486 (Amendment #2, C2AP Alternative Payment-Stage 2), $377,489 (Amendment #3, C2AP Alternative Payment-Stage 2), and $1,621,933 (Amendment #2, CAPP Alternative Payment) in the Employment and Human Services Department, Community Services Bureau (0589), for the Alternative Payment Childcare Programs.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This action is to adjust estimated revenues and appropriated expenditures based on additional funding approved by the California Department of Education. The funding is 74% Federal pass through and 26% State. The Federal funds are passed through the State’s Department of Education.

BACKGROUND:

This board order is to approve the estimated revenues and appropriated expenditures based on additional funding approved by the California Department of Education.


CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Appropriations and estimated revenues will not be properly reflected in the FY 20/21 budget.

CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:

The Employment and Human Services Department Community Services Bureau supports three (3) of Contra Costa County’s community outcomes – Outcome 1: “Children Ready for and Succeeding in School,” Outcome 3: “Families that are Economically Self-sufficient,” and Outcome 4: “Families that are Safe, Stable, and Nurturing.” These outcomes are achieved by offering comprehensive services, including high quality early childhood education, nutrition, and health services to low-income children throughout Contra Costa County.
