RECOMMENDATION(S):

ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 25589 to reallocate the salary of the classifications of Chief Assistant County Counsel (2ED2) from ($16,572.07-$20,143.46) to ($16,572.07-$21,150.63), Chief Assistant District Attorney (2KD2) from ($16,572.07-$20,143.46) to ($16,572.07 - $21,150.63) , and Chief Assistant Public Defender (25D1) from ($16,441.32 - $19,984.53) to ($16,441.32 - $20,983.76).

FISCAL IMPACT:

Upon approval, the cost of reallocating the salaries of these specific classifications will be approximately $23,000 and is funded in the individual budgets (100% general fund).

BACKGROUND:

The recommended salary reallocation will continue to closely align the classifications in the offices of the District Attorney, County Counsel, and Public Defender. The reallocation is recommended to increase the likelihood of retaining these highly trained attorney/managers.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

The County may lose the services of highly trained executive attorney/managers in these departments if this action is not approved.
