RECOMMENDATION(S):

ACCEPT a report from the Fire Chief providing an update on the ongoing annexation feasibility analysis.

FISCAL IMPACT:

No fiscal impact.

BACKGROUND:

In September 2020, the District contracted with a consultant to conduct a feasibility study regarding potential annexation of either or both the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District and the Rodeo-Hercules Fire Protection District into the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District. In Phase I of the overall study, a specific fiscal feasibility analysis was conducted relative to the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District. The Phase I report was completed in mid-November. The initial findings of the Phase I report indicate that the larger and more comprehensive study regarding annexation of the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District should continue.
