RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County Contract Amendment/Extension Agreement #25-066-15 with Shelter Inc., a non-profit corporation, effective December 31, 2019, to amend Contract #25-066-14, to increase the payment limit by $119,282, from $555,718, to a new payment limit of $675,000, and extend the termination date from December 31, 2019 to February 29, 2020, to provide additional temporary supportive housing services.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Contract is funded 100% by Employment and Human Services Department CalWORKS. (No rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

On July 30, 2019, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #25-066-14, with Shelter Inc. to provide supportive housing services for homeless families, for the period from July 1, 2019 through December 31, 2019.

Approval of Contract Amendment/Extension Agreement #25-066-15 will allow the Contractor to provide additional supportive housing services through February 29, 2020.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this amendment is not approved, Contractor will not continue providing supportive housing services for homeless families.
