Referral History:

On July 30, 2019 the Contra Costa Board of Supervisor allocated $350,000 in grant funds to be allocated in two phases.

The second phase was approvaved as a "mini-grant" program for local community organizations, faith communities, or other eligible organizations to host a Census event to bring together members of their community to increase awareness about the Census and encourage attendees to fill out the Census Form. The RFP is anticipated to be issued on January 1, 2020 with proposals accepted until May 15, 2020. These mini-grants are anticipated to be awarded to organizations that meet certain criteria.

Referral Update:

Staff is seeking guidance for the Phase II application process to prepare for the release of the Phase 2 grants.
Considerations include:

Grant release timiing with other outreach initiatives, in particular Faith Outreach which will ramp up after the holiday season.
Evaluation criteria and timing for a rolling grant application process
Focus area of the phase II grants given the current grant approvals
Other details for the Phase 2 grants
