RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the Health Services Department, to execute an amendment to Purchase Order # F02839 with Stryker Corporation to add $870,000 to a new total not to exceed $2,420,000 for the purchase of endoscopic equipment, implants and supplies for Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC) with no change in the original term of January 1, 2016 through  
December 31, 2018.

FISCAL IMPACT:

100% budgeted in Hospital Enterprise Fund I.

BACKGROUND:

CCRMC has seen a great increase in orthopedic surgeries which has required them to buy large quantities of equipment implants and supplies from this vendor. The recent survey by the California Department of Health and Human Services Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services also required CCRMC to replace old and deteriorating instruments, furniture, and infection control supplies. CCRMC has been using this vendor for more than ten years.
