RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute on behalf of the County, Contract #27-569-7 with William W. Chen. M.D., Medical Corporation, a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $410,000, to provide primary care, allergy and immunology services to Contra Costa Health Plan (CCHP) members for the period from January 1, 2017 through December 31, 2018.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Contract is funded 100% by Contra Costa Health Plan Enterprise Fund II. (No rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

On January 13, 2015, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #27-569-6 with William W. Chen. M.D., Medical Corporation, for the period from January 1, 2015 through December 31, 2016, to provide primary care services to Contra Costa Health Plan members. Approval of Contract #27-569-7 will allow the Contractor to provide primary care, allergy and immunology services through December 31, 2018.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, CCHP members requiring primary care services will not have access to Contractor’s services, which may result in a reduction in the levels of service to the community.
