RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #74-433-6 with Michael Levin, M.D., an individual, in an amount not to exceed $250,600, to provide outpatient psychiatric services including the provision of expert testimony in conservatorship trials, for the period from January 1, 2016 through December 31, 2016.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Contract is funded 100% Mental Health Realignment. (No rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

On December 2, 2014, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #74-433-4 with Michael Levin, M.D. for the provision of outpatient psychiatric services, and expert testimony in conservatorship trials, for the period from January 1, 2015 through December 31, 2015. Approval of Contract #74-433-6 will allow the Contractor to continue providing outpatient psychiatric ser-vices at the Central County Adult Mental Health Clinic including the provision of expert psychiatric testi-mony in conservatorship trials, through December 31, 2016.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, County’s clients will not have access to Contractor’s outpatient psychiatric services.
