RECOMMENDATION(S):

ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 21212 to add one (1) Employment and Human Services Facilities Manager (XQNA) position at salary level ZA5 1743 ($5,836 - $7,094) (represented) in the Administrative Services Bureau in the Employment and Human Services Department.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Upon approval, this action will result in additional annual cost of $143,436 and additional County costs of $14,344. This position is funded in the Employment and Human Services budget.

BACKGROUND:

The Facilities oversight work for the Department has greatly increased and will continue at an increased pace for the foreseeable future. Having a Facilities Manager level position allows the Department greater latitude in the work that can be assigned. Reestablishing this class is necessary to meet future needs.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this request is not approved the Department will not be able to adequately plan, manage, direct and coordinate the building and facility activities within EHSD.
