RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #26-588-7 with Robert Green (dba East Bay Audiologists), a sole-proprietor, effective November 1, 2012, to amend Contract #26-588-6 to increase the payment limit by $60,000, from $400,000 to a new payment limit of $460,000, with no change in the original term of January 1, 2012 through December 31, 2013.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Amendment is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. No rate increase.

BACKGROUND:

On January 10, 2012, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-588-6 with Robert Green (dba East Bay Audiologists), for the period from January 1, 2012 through December 31, 2013, for the provision of audiological evaluation services for patients at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #26-588-7 will allow the Contractor to provide additional audiological evaluation services due to a larger patient load than anticipated at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers, through December 31, 2013.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this amendment is not approved, patients requiring these medical services at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center experience much longer waits for services and may possibly go untreated.

CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:

Not applicable.
