RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #26-995-11 with George Lee, M.D., a self-employed individual, effective August 1, 2012, to amend Contract #26-995-10, to add provisions for administrative duties for the Anesthesia Unit at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers, with no change in the original payment limit of $1,275,000, with no change in the original term of August 1, 2012 through July 31, 2015.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Amendment is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. No increase in rates.

BACKGROUND:

On August 14, 2012, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-995-10 with George Lee, M.D., Inc., for the period from August 1, 2012 through July 31, 2015, for the provision of anesthesiology services including consultation, training, medical procedures, on-call and clinical coverage.

Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #26-995-11 will allow the Contractor to provide additional administrative duties for the Anesthesiology Unit at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers, through July 31, 2015.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this amendment is not approved, this physician would not be able to provide additional administrative duties for the Anesthesia Unit at Contra Costa Regional Medical and Contra Costa Health Centers.
