RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #74-433-1 with Michael Levin, M.D., a self-employed individual, in an amount not to exceed $116,480, to provide Outpatient Psychiatric Services, for the period from January 1, 2013 through December 31, 2013.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Contract is funded 100% by Mental Health Realignment. (No Rate Increase)

BACKGROUND:

In December 2011, the County Administrator approved and Purchasing Services Manager executed Contract #74-433, with Michael Levin, M.D, for the period from January 1, 2012 through December 31, 2012 for the provision of Outpatient Psychiatric services at the East County Clinic.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

Approval of Contract #74-433-1 will allow Contractor to continue providing Mental Health services, including an additional day of service per week, through December 31, 2013.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, services at Central County Clinic will be reduced for adult clients requiring Outpatient Mental Health services.
