RECOMMENDATION(S):

ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 21206 to add one (40/40) Clerk - Senior Level (JWXC) position in the Public Health Division of the Health Services Department.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Upon approval, this action would result in a total annual cost of $78,062.04 associated with adding one Clerk - Senior Level. This position will be supported by 87% State and Federal Funding from the California Childrens Services Program, and 13% County Costs.

BACKGROUND:

The Contra Costa County California Childrens Services Program (CCS) serves a total of 3700 children annually. The caseload grows each year. The additional Clerk - Senior Level will assist with general CCS administratiave duties which support both the CCS Case Management Program and the Medical Therapy Program. These functions are currently being performed by the CCS Administrator, Administrative Manager, and one Clerk - Senior Level. Duties assigned to the additional Clerk will include assisting with personnel actions, facilities, equipment, IT, supplies, contracts, provider claims support, records management, and State reporting.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this action is not approved, the current CCS staffing will remain insufficient to meet the Program's responsibilities and to implement Program enhancements including converting all records from paper to electronic, and implementing Program efficiencies and quality assurance activities.

CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:

Not Applicable.
