RECOMMENDATION(S):

ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 21166 to add one Secretary-Advanced Level (J3TG) position (represented) at salary level 3R2 1163 ($3386 - $4334) in the Employment and Human Services Department.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Upon approval, this action will result in an additional net county cost of $88,416.00. The associated pension cost for this new position is $31,679.00.

BACKGROUND:

The Department requests to add a Secretary Advanced Level to provide secretarial support for the Employment and Human Services Director. This new position replaces a secretarial position eliminated in the budget cuts and restores support for the Department Director. The Director has a very extensive appointment schedule and preparation of multiple reports and responses regarding Department programs, services and issues for a variety of entities.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If a Secretary Advanced Level position is not added the Director may lack the secretarial support necessary to effectively perform the responsibilities of the Director.
