RECOMMENDATION(S):
Approve and authorize the Purchasing Agent on behalf of the Health Services Department, to execute, a Purchase Order with NEXUS, in an amount not to exceed $850,335.25, for purchase of hardware, software and maintenance for an EMC Avamar data backup system, for the period from December 14, 2011 through December 13, 2015.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Purchase order is fully funded by (a) the Medicare & Medicaid Electronic Health Records (EHR) Incentive Program of the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA) and (b) the Delivery System Reform and Incentive Pool (DSRIP) funding. No County funds required.
BACKGROUND:
Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Clinics (CCRMC) requires a data backup system for the Epic electronic health record (EHR). This will replace the current backup system which will not meet the recovery objectives for the enterprise Epic EHR and meet encryption requirements for HIPAA and HITECH. This solution replaces our current 3 vendor backup architecture.
