B. Standard Agreement (Amendment) #29-765-31 (State #06MP002, A8) with the State of California, Managed Risk Medical Insurance Board, effective October 1, 2011, to increase the amount payable to County by $951 from $5,485 to a new total Payment Limit of $6,436, and to extend the term of the agreement form September 30, 2011 through March 31, 2012, for County’s continued participation in the Access for Infants and Mothers (AIM) State Supported Services Program.
FISCAL IMPACT:
These Agreements will provide a total combined increase in revenue of $510,546 from the State of California, Managed Risk Medical Insurance Board, for the Access for Infants and Mothers (AIM) Program and State Supported Services Program, through March 31, 2012. No County match is required.
BACKGROUND:
The County has participated in the State-funded AIM Program since January 1992. This Program provides increased access to maternity, delivery and infant care services for low income women who have neither Medi-Cal nor private health insurance coverage.
Under the Agreement, the Contra Costa Health Plan (CCHP) provides comprehensive medical care during a woman's pregnancy and delivery, and for sixty days post-partum. The AIM Program also provides comprehensive medical care to the baby during their first two years of life.
Approval of Standard Agreement (Amendments) #29-765-30 and #29-765-31 will add funding to allow CCHP to continue participating and providing support services in the AIM Program, through March 31 , 2012.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, mothers will not receive comprehensive medical care during their pregnancy and delivery or during their sixty days post-partum. Infants and toddlers will not receive medical care during their first two years of life.
