RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute on behalf of the County, Standard Agreement (Amendment) #29-772-23 (State #04-36067, A-10) with the State of California, Department of Health Care Services (DHCS), effective December 30, 2011, to amend Agreement #29-772-13 (as amended by subsequent amendments #29-772-14 through #29-772-22), to make technical and administrative changes to the Agreement with no change in the original payment limit of $317,472,000, and to extend the term from December 31, 2011 through December 31, 2012.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Approval of this amendment will reflect no change in the original amount payable to County of $317,472,000 for the Medi-Cal Managed Care Local Initiative Project for fiscal year 2011-2012. No County match required.

BACKGROUND:

On April 26, 2005, the Board of Supervisors approved Standard Agreement #29-772-13 (as amended by subsequent Amendments #29-772-14 through #29-772-22) with the State of California, Department of Health Care Services (DHCS), for the Medi-Cal Local Initiative Health Plan, for the period from April 1, 2005 through December 31, 2011.

Approval of this Standard Agreement (Amendment) #29-772-23 will make technical adjustments and administrative changes to the Agreement, allowing the County to continue to receive reimbursement from the State and to continue providing Medi-Cal managed care services to qualified County recipients for the Medi-Cal Local Initiative, through December 31, 2012.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, County will not be able to provide Medi-Cal managed care services to County recipients.
