RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent to execute a purchase order with SAP Public Services, Inc., on behalf of the Employment and Human Services Department, Information Technology Unit, in the amount not to exceed $199,569 for computer equipment and software licenses for the period January 1, 2012 to December 31, 2012.  
  

FISCAL IMPACT:

$199,569: Administrative Overhead (10% County; 45% State; 45% Federal)

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

The Employment and Human Services Department will be unable to purchase much needed computer equipment and software.


BACKGROUND:

The Employment and Human Services Department, Information Technology Unit (IT), seeks authorization to purchase the following: ten (10) ESRI GIS software licenses; ten (10) SAP Business Explorer software licenses; ten (10) Enterprise Interactive Viewing software licenses; ten (10) Xcelsius Enterprise software licenses; one (1) Enterprise Premium Central Processing Unit; one (1) Web Intelligence Central Processing Unit. This renewal is necessary for the department to continue department automation.  
  
In accordance with Administrative Bulletin No. 611.0, County Departments are required to get Board approval for single item purchases greater than $100,000.
